The Mainz ensemble PRISMA vokal has developed an unmistakable profile in the choral scene under the direction of Markus Gück, which is impressively presented on this album: Gospeljazz!This is where the musical density of vocal jazz, for example, meets the content density of gospel and gospel music.
Compositions and arrangements were recorded by Christoph Schöpsdau and Markus Gück, most of them first recordings with a great band that effortlessly brings swing, bossa nova, gospel, rock and pop to groove and sound in the smallest of spaces: including psalm settings (My Fortress), parts of the New York Mass, new choral arrangements, jazz motets and original songs.
