Magnificat

An great and extraordinary work for jazz-ambitious choirs! Groovy rhythms and a big band sound characterise this English-language piece.

The Magnificat (Luke 1:46-55) is set in a funk, jazz and soul style for mixed choir (S.A.B.) and rhythm section. The seven movements take about 40 minutes to perform. The horn section consists of 2 trumpets, trombone, alto and baritone saxophone.

A wide sound space, no longer so foreign to the congregations, opens up – for players and listeners alike…
An inspiring alternative for the Advent and Christmas season.
